Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, and Trade Secrets How can you protect your invention, product, brand name, logo, or short story that you’ve created? • This session will explore the four types of intellectual property, Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, and Trade Secrets, including definitions, costs, time frames, examples, and where to apply. • Preliminary search techniques for patents and trademarks will be covered, also what legal, state, and USPTO resources are available. The Oklahoma State University Library is a Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC), designated by the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a resource for those who want information about IP.
